MEET THE MUSICIANS

PA star is the collaboration of Erik Hischmann and Max Shakun, who have spent much of the last seven years touring North America as members of the Boston-based folk/rock band Parsonsfield.

Drawing from their years of songwriting and performing, this new project is an exploration of song, relationships, life on the road, and life at home.

Brad Hinton has been a staple of the Philadelphia folk music scene for over a decade now, having played in such seminal groups as Wissahickon Chicken Shack, Mason Porter, Hezekiah Jones, Spinning Leaves, and others. He is a songwriter and performer, but also an accomplished side-man, continually honing his skills on guitar, lap steel, dobro and banjo. You can see him play around town with Hezekiah Jones, Tin Bird Choir, Tumbleweed, Hinton, Bower, Jones, and his own ever-changing band.

Songwriter Pete Hall has been part of the local Bucks County and Philadelphia music scene for over 15 years. His current project, Leaf & Tree, provides an avenue for his meditations on matters from the ontological to the hypothetical—parenthood, nostalgia, joy, fear—and allows him to hide behind trees. When he’s not helping craft experiences at Bluecadet or acting as co-creator of the Newtown Theatre’s live music series, Hall can be found meticulously recording and producing music in his Newtown home studio.
