Spooky Movie Music with Divine Hand Ensemble

  • The Newtown Theatre 120 North State Street Newtown, PA 18940 (map)

The historic Newtown Theatre will welcome the Divine Hand Ensemble for “A Night of Spooky Movie Music” on Saturday, October 15 at 8 PM.

The Divine Hand Ensemble is the world’s only theremin-fronted band, led by Mano Divina Giannone. The theremin is a 100-year-old electronic instrument that Giannone plays without physical contact. Instead, he manipulates electric sound waves by moving his hands between two antennae to produce eerie, otherworldly notes. He is backed by a string quartet, two harps, vibraphone, accordion, and special guests.

The Ensemble will play music from a wide range of spooky movies, including Edward Scissorhands, Ghostbusters, Wolfman, 12 Monkeys, Labyrinth, and other Halloween favorites.
