SOLD OUT!
The historic Newtown Theatre will present A Motown Christmas featuring York Street Hustle on Saturday, December 9 at 3 PM.
Looking for the 8 PM show? Get your tickets here.
York Street Hustle is a 10-piece, 1960s soul ensemble that has previously played five sold-out shows at the Newtown Theatre. This concert will feature a special mix of Motown and Stax holiday classics, 60s soul hits, and B-sides by Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Otis Redding, Nina Simone, Al Green, Gladys Knight, the Jackson Five and many more.
In a few short years, the band has gone from filling tiny South Street bars to repeated sell-outs at World Cafe Live. Their repertoire spans well over 70 songs, including more than a decade worth of Detroit, Memphis and Chicago soul.
Online tickets are $37 per person or $32 for theatre members. Any remaining tickets will be sold for $47 at the door on the day of the show (if available).
All seating is general admission.
HISTORIC RENOVATION FEE
In the summer of 2024, the historic Newtown Theatre will undertake Phase II of its master renovation plan, which includes renovating our balcony and expanding and improving our basement restrooms. To help pay for these exciting upgrades, we have implemented a $2 historic renovation fee on every ticket of $15 or more. This fee is just one part of an overall plan to raise the $600,000 required to make these upgrades. Thank you for supporting your historic hometown theatre!
