Philadelphia Saxophone Quartet™

  • The Newtown Theatre 120 North State Street Newtown, PA 18940 (map)

The historic Newtown Theatre will welcome the Philadelphia Saxophone Quartet™ to its stage on Thursday, July 27 at 8 PM.

The concert will be an entertaining and eclectic mix of classical, jazz, Great American songbook, Motown, and pop, with musical arrangements exclusive to the Quartet.

The Philadelphia Saxophone Quartet has performed continuously since it was founded in 1968 by pit musicians who played for Broadway musical theatre in Philadelphia. Though the musicians have changed over the years, the Quartet maintains the highest level of professional standards and musicianship.

The Quartet’s extensive repertoire includes European classical music, French and Modern American classics, the Great American Songbook, swing, and jazz. The Quartet is distinguished by its careful attention to both the technical and expressive elements of the music it plays. The four musicians take pride in their refinement of phrasing, tuning, dynamics and tone quality, but also in the elements of energy and emotion within the music.

Tickets are $30 per person or $25 for theatre members. Any remaining tickets will be sold for $40 at the door on the night of the show (if available).

All seating is general admission.
