SOLD OUT - Croissant Happy Hour & French Film

  • The Newtown Theatre 120 North State Street Newtown, PA 18940 (map)

SOLD OUT!

Move over popcorn, butter has a new best friend!

In another offbeat event, the historic Newtown Theatre is teaming up with Mamie Colette Bakery (202 S. State Street) for a Croissant Happy Hour and French movie on Thursday, September 19.

This whimsical event begins at Mamie Colette’s with an after-hours croissant happy hour featuring “croissanterie boards” and drinks from 6:00 - 7:00 PM. During this hour, guests will enjoy a variety of freshly baked mini croissants, cheese, fresh fruit and drinks.

At 7:00 PM, guests will begin making their way down State Street to the Newtown Theatre for a 7:30 PM screening of “Driving Madeleine.”

This sentimental 2022 French film follows the bond that forms between a disillusioned taxi driver and Madeleine, a 92-year-old woman sent to live in a retirement home. Taking place over the course of a day, Madeleine asks to be driven through the streets of Paris as she reflects on her extraordinary past, forging a life-changing friendship along the way.

This film is in French with English subtitles.

Online tickets are $42 per person ($37 for theatre members) for the happy hour and movie. Only 75 tickets will be sold for the happy hour/movie combo, and no tickets will be sold at the door.

Those who only want to see the movie can buy tickets at the theatre’s box office starting at 7:00 PM that night.
