Meet the Performers
John Beacher
A dynamic songwriter, natural performer and “hope enthusiast,” John Beacher has built his decade-long career not only with talent but a genuine spirit and kind heart. Equipped with an acoustic guitar, a few effect pedals, and a loop station, Beacher creates music that seems impossible for one person.
With over fifteen years of performing experience, Beacher has shared stages with national acts such as Leon Russell, Cheryl Wheeler, Rusted Root, Marshall Tucker Band, Dean Ween Group, and Elephant Revival, to name a few.
John has twice performed at the Philadelphia Folk Festival, and his music is regularly featured on 88.5 WXPN out of Philadelphia, as well as many other independent radio stations across the country.
Brad Hinton
Brad Hinton has been a staple of the Philadelphia folk music scene for over a decade, having played in such seminal groups as Wissahickon Chicken Shack, Mason Porter, Hezekiah Jones, Spinning Leaves, and others.
He is a songwriter and performer but also an accomplished side-man, continually honing his skills on guitar, lap steel, dobro and banjo. You can see him play around town with Hezekiah Jones, Tin Bird Choir, Tumbleweed, Hinton, Bower, Jones, and his own ever-changing band.
Amanda Penecale
Amanda Penecale is a singer-songwriter and visual artist living in Bucks County. She spent four years living in Nashville where she enjoyed co-writing and southern living. Her collaborations allowed her music to grow in new directions, and her writing began to include more history and story songs. After ten years of moving, Penecale has returned home to continue her creative pursuits.
Her discography includes “Middle Ground” (2008), “Chalkboard” (2009), and “Time and Tide” (2012). In 2014 in Nashville, Penecale and close friends Carlin Spivey, Joe Mayes, Meghan Perdue, and Dan Kozlowski formed a band called The Lost Sleep. They ran a crowdfunding campaign and recorded an album of original country/Americana material lead by Penecale on vocals and guitar titled "Fools Gold." They continue to release singles as time and geography allow, including “Dear Felica” in 2018.
Penecale’s brooding lyrics and fingerstyle guitar are what she is known for, but her current work is growing out of compositions based on the piano. Her Christmas song “Left Alone with You,” written with Craig Lackey and released in 2017, is the first of this new sound.
She continues to pursue writing and painting and is also a high school art teacher. She enjoys connecting with the musical community through jams at the Birdhouse Center for the arts, workshops at Godfrey Daniels, and as a member of the Philly Song Circle.
LisaBeth Weber
LisaBeth Weber has been a noted singer/songwriter for over 25 years. She’s recorded three independent CDs including one with Grammy-winning producer Bil VornDick.
She’s opened shows for Nanci Griffith, Ralph Stanley, Roy Clark, Dave Grisman and over 50 others, has been a guest multiple times on WXPN and her songs have been featured on NPR’s Cartalk and in the movie Life on the Line with John Travolta and Sharon Stone.
LisaBeth was in theater management at the Sundance Film Festival for six years and was the production supervisor and publicist on the local independent feature film, The North Star, starring former Philadelphia Eagles football player Jeremiah Trotter.
