Album Release Concert with Newtown's Own Matt Dorsey

  • The Newtown Theatre 120 North State Street Newtown, PA 18940 (map)

Newtown singer/songwriter Matt Dorsey will celebrate the November 10 release of his new album, “Frozen in Amber,” with a concert at the Newtown Theatre on Sunday, November 20 at 7:30 PM.

Backed by his band DORSEA, the concert will showcase music from the new album.

Tickets are $35 per person or $30 for theatre members. Any remaining tickets will be sold for $40 at the door on the day of the show (if available).

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Originally from Tennessee and a cousin to June Carter Cash, Dorsey’s musical lineage runs deep. His music is influenced by John Mayer, The Allman Brothers Band, Dave Matthews, Bruce Hornsby, and others, and he has opened for artists such as Miranda Lambert, Bret Young, and Toad the Wet Sprocket.

Dorsey’s new album has been a year-long project in collaboration with his band, DORSEA. The album was recorded at Studio G in Brooklyn and the chemistry between Dorsey and his band evolved into a record that displays both his versatility as a singer/songwriter and as a guitar and piano player.

Critics who have heard the album say it portrays the patience, focus and artistry of the next generation of music while preserving the iconic guitar sounds of artists such as Eric Clapton. The first single from the album will be released in late September, followed by two more singles in October. For more information about Dorsey and the album, visit mattdorseymusic.com.
