The next film in the theatre’s monthly Movie Club series will be 1931’s City Lights starring Charlie Chaplin.
Charlie Chaplin produced, directed, and starred in City Lights. While the film has no audible dialog, it was released with a synchronized musical score. The story follows the misadventures of Chaplin’s Tramp as he falls in love with a blind girl and develops a turbulent friendship with an alcoholic millionaire. Today, many critics consider it not only the highest accomplishment of Chaplin’s career, but one of the greatest films of all time.
Each Movie Club film will be introduced by Joe Amodei, President/CEO of Virgil Films & Entertainment. After the movie, Amodei and various special guests will discuss the film with participation from the audience.
Cost is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and FREE for theatre members (members may simply walk in, no digital ticket needed).
