This series of intimate, in-store concerts is a partnership between the Newtown Book & Record Exchange and the historic Newtown Theatre. Each concert features local musicians or bands playing in the cozy confines of the Book & Record Exchange (102 S State Street).
The May 9 concert will feature Those Looks and PA star.
Those Looks’ sound incorporates elements of indie pop, alt-country, surf, and psychedelic rock. In May, they will release a five-song EP titled Passing Through, which explores apocalyptic themes. Typically a four-piece band, singer-guitarists Kelly and Sylvia will be playing this show as a duo, featuring pared-down versions of their songs.
PA stars features principal songwriter Erik Hirschmann teaming up with Newtown producer Pete Hall (Leaf & Tree) for an intimate set exploring each other’s songs.
